Oliver's ANC jumped to 1248 at the check this afternoon (Once we got his line working at the clinic). This means they want him to start this second 1/2 of this round tomorrow instead of the Thursday plan (as we didn't think he'd recover that quickly on his ANC count).
So tomorrow he gets a spinal, then has to go to clinic. At clinic they pump him with fluids to dilute his bladder and check his urine until it is what they want it. Then they give one one IV drug and another (the 2nd has nothing to do with his urine). He goes home on an IV bag for the day to keep his bladder diluted and the 3 doses of this 2nd drug we administer the next 3 days via his central line at home. He also gets an oral drug 6TG that he takes daily for 2 weeks on an empty stomach. We then pick up this 2nd IV drug on Tuesday next week to administer again via his line for 4 days. That is all that entails this other half of this round of treatment. They will check his counts on Thursday (since his RBC and hemoglobin are already low, to make sure he won't need a transfusion on Friday. Then they will check twice a week for a while still to keep up on his counts (not sure what two days since his calendar has to be reset with this change).
So.. here we go again with the count plunges in the next few weeks. Keep you posted on his numbers and if we end up going back to hospital or not this month.
