Oliver has been stuck with a needle 11 times since Sunday morning. Luckily three of them were when he was sedated, but that leaves 8 which have been a total ordeal for him every time. Apparently it is difficult to get a IV started on him. It doesn't help that he is in a general state of pain and discomfort, which we think is due to bone pain cause by the leukemia. He is so wary that he will start crying and whimpering "no" as soon as someone even opens the door to our room. Despite all of it he is being a real trooper and we still manage to get a smile and a chuckle out of him every once in a while.
Unfortunately he has more pokes in his future.
