Its back to school on Monday!

Oliver had his start of maintenance today. It's been a long day, however.
We got to the hospital at 830am as they instructed (on an empty stomach) and did not get in to start until about 10ish. After they take you off the anesthesia, you have to lay flat for 30 minutes. This usually isnt a problem as he sleeps through it or wakes up just before that 30 minutes is up, but for some reason he popped right up.
It could have been the very unhappy baby across from us in the recovery room, to which he could not see but kept saying "Miles is angry". I had to keep telling him that was another baby, and that Miles is at home with daddy.

We left for the clinic after that and he had a tiny bit to eat and drink.
At the clinic he got a little ill, to which we then discovered that they did not give him the anti nausea medication they normally do before they start, so they started with that before the chemo. By the time we got home he was feeling better and wanted to eat.

So, it starts.. 12 week cycles of chemo with daily oral drugs. Some of the drugs they may have to go down and up with the dosage if it causes his numbers to drop. We hope that isn't the case, as every kid reacts differently. Right now his numbers are great. They only have us checking labs in 2 weeks but said we can check in a week if we want. I will want to, so we will check the next two Thursdays. His sees the doctor once a month as well. We have our next appointment on the 27th which will have labs before hand as well.

I'll update next week on Thursday after labs are in and let you know how school is going as well.
Have a great weekend!
