Happy Thursday! Count check.

We did not have to check Olivers blood until next week, but we were told if we ever wanted, we could drop one off and we did this morning since it was a week ago he started maintenance.

So far so good! His WBC is on the rise at 3.3 with an excellent ANC of 2178.
RBC is normal at 4.06
Hemoglobin just about normal at 11.4
and Platelets well within normal at 242K

Oliver started going back to school on Monday. He is all excited when we talk about school. We all went to drop him off the first day. He was a little upset when Dad left but I hung out with Miles for as long as needed, which was not very long at all. I said I was going and that we'd see you later and he said bye and see ya later to me.
So far the rest of the week he has been a little upset at drop off, but is fine within a minute. They report he is participating in everything and its business as usual. He even went p on the toilet there the other day (he still won't tell you that he has to go, or ever answer yes if you ask him if he has to go).
He talks about what he ate and what he did at school. He loves it despite the slight hesitation at first.

He did have his 5 days of steroids which we finished up on Monday. Wasn't as bad but he definitely had his moments of mood swings. He started eating a lot as well the last few days and a bit after, but that has all tapered away now.

Taking the nightly pill has been ok. We have gotten him a few times to just chew the tablet and drink some water (Dan says it has no taste or slightly sweet if anything). Some days he won't have it, so we crush it into some cherry syrup. The bigger challenge is that we have to cut him off with food/drink so give a 2 hour gap between eating and taking the pill as it has to be on an empty stomach. He has asked for food but we just put everything away and say we are all done with food today. Its only been a week, there is still another 70 or 80 more weeks to go!

Oliver's Make-A-Wish trip is being worked on right now as well. It came down to just doing some fun stuff he would enjoy down in socal. Sea world, Legoland, San Diego Zoo - The trip is going to take place in August before school starts just after his 5th and Miles' 1st birthdays.

Next check on Thursday next week. Until then!
