Hi Everyone!
Oliver had his check up with Oncology today and lab draw.
Numbers as follows
RBC 4.44
HGB 13.4
Platlets 210K
WBC 6.4 with an ANC of 4096 (64%)
All good numbers, and the check up as quick and uneventful - just how we like em.
He will see Oncology first week in May again (then July, and then we go to every 3 months!).
Last I wrote we were talking about sleep apnea. We have given up on the CPAP machine for now. Its the mask on his head that is the sole problem. He wakes or shifts after 45-60 minutes of first going to sleep and absolutely flips out that there is something on his head and he tries to rip it off, regardless if the machine is on or even connected to anything. On that note we are opting for the tonsil and adenoid removal surgery. His surgery is scheduled April 2nd, and because he has DS, they want him to stay one night post surgery. The surgery itself is simple and routine, its the recovery that is harder. He will miss just over a week of school until run into spring break so he has that 2nd week as well to recover without missing school. They will then do another sleep study a few months later to see if the surgery made any improvement.
The only other family news to report is that Dan just started a new job today which is only 1 mile up the street. He walked to/from work today. :) Overall a better opportunity, my favorite part being its just up the street (vs 27 miles one way), and the way way way much better benefits!
I'll post an update post surgery next month. Until then....
