So as you know we are getting close to the end of Oliver's treatment. Well yesterday, we got word from Oliver's doctor that he doesn't have to take his chemo meds again, even if his counts go up before the hard end date of 7/6.
So that is it! Oliver is officially cured of leukemia!
His Broviac catheter removal is scheduled for August 9th and after that he will really, really be done!
Looking back over this blog, it has been quite a journey. He has been living with it for over two years. He spent more time in the hospital than most people spend in a lifetime. When Oliver got sick, he was an only child, and he now has two little brothers. He has grown. He started and completed kindergarten.
We are so glad it is over and we are anxious to see how Oliver will grow and succeed now that he doesn't have chemo in his system.
We are so grateful everyone who has helped or thought about us along the way. Your support has made a huge difference and we would be so much worse off without it.
I doubt this will be our last post, but it is the end of the story of our fight with leukemia.
