We checked Oliver's counts on Thursday last week.
WBC was at 3.7 with an ANC of 1813 (49%)
RBC 4.07 (normal)
HGB 11.8 (normal)
Platelets 209K (normal)
We also did a chem check and everything was in normal limits.
His WBC is almost up to a normal range. He had his check up on Friday and all was fine. We had our appointment with his Oncologist to go over what they call "off treatment" - I guess a lot can happen after chemo. The appointment was filled with buzz kills left and right, but that is expected I guess. This could happen, that could happen, etc etc. They gave us a binder on resources regarding such things. It did bring me down after the appointment was over. What I mean is anywhere from weekend tooth enamel and cataracts to scarred lungs/heart/kidneys and others cancer, and everything in-between.
They will see him once a month for a year. Each appointment they will check his CBC.
After that it is every other month for a year, then every 3 months, then 4 in the 4th year, and then 6 months in the 5th year and when we get to the 6th year it becomes yearly for life. He will continue to take the weekend antibiotic for 6 months, which is the only medication he is on. His broviac comes out next week on Friday! I wish it was sooner (like before his birthday this Sunday!).
We'll probably only update when he does have a CBC check. We will check it once more while we can with his broviac in, the day before his surgery. I will probably wait to update until after surgery itself, however.
That is all for now other than Miles is turning 2 on the 1st and Oliver will be 6 on the 4th! Time sure does go by fast. He was 3 when he was diagnosed!
Until next weekend then!
