Oliver received his blood transfusion yesterday after his spinal. I took some photos and posted them to flickr (link to the right) during this as its a 3-4 hour process.
No temperature issues since Monday evening. They weren't concerned as to why his WBC is all the sudden within normal range completely. Next blood check is Monday.
It is funny that you don't really notice how pale your kid is since you see them all the time until you are under florescent lights. Before bed, his lips and cheeks were pink again.
He handled himself well during the whole process. I brought his DVD case but all he wanted to do was flip through it talking about what is what. Played with his toy cars for a while. Looked out the window at all that is going on since we are on the top floor. Did want to walk around a bit so I held his hand and rolled the IV machine around with us. Looked at drawings, little animals, and sat at a table and colored some and did some puzzles before going back to the room again. Took a short nap.
Later at home since it was past his normal nap time, he fell asleep eating a snack just around 5pm on the couch. I then laid him in a more normal sleeping position as you can see from the pictures how that must have been uncomfortable to be in. He woke up right when Dad got home from work. Wanted to eat some dinner and played some before going to bed a little later than usual.
Oh and his spinal fluid was clear. Nothing unusual going on in there and that is what they want to see.
