Happy Holidays!

Last post of the year! I'll add a family update below his visit/lab info.

Oliver had his monthly check up today at Oncology and lab draws.

Here are the lab results:
WBC 4.6 - ANC of 2300 (50%)
RBC 4.34
HGB 13.0
Platelets at 193K

All excellent numbers. His chemistry labs came back all within normal range as well.
He gained almost a pound since last visit, but his height seemed steady at this point from last month.  He gets to stop taking the weekend antibiotic after January 6th as well (the last thing he has medicine wise related to his treatment).

We are on school break right now so life is a little bit busier during the day, however I don't have to drive over with everyone to get Oliver from school for 2 weeks, and I have my MIL around this week to help if needed, which she watched the other two boys while I took Oliver to his check up [Thanks Megan!].  We hope to be in our house near the end of January so I will have to keep it up a little longer. Grant has grown out of his infant car seat as well so I will no longer have the luxury of just snapping the carrier in/out the car and in/our the stroller. I am sure my biceps will notice the difference.

Oliver is doing great otherwise.  He is loving school and swimming lessons. He now brings home appropriate reading level books from school each week and he surprises me what he can actually read.  Lately he's been into just listening to music on the ipad from our  music library. So far his favorite bands are Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, Save Ferris, and Franz Ferdinand. Occasionally I hear rappers delight playing. He often breaks out in dance as well. He's learning the words too as you can clearly tell he is singing along to what he thinks is being said. :)

Miles is still terrified of water after he fell and submerged into a cold dirty pond up at the farm one weekend. We haven't been able to get him into the bath, and swim lessons are a bust (we signed up before this happened). Its sponge baths on towel these days. He did come to play with the water out of the tub while Oliver was taking a bath one day, which is a huge step.  Santa was also a no go for Miles this year. We did get a picture with Grant, and eventually Oliver wanted to see the jolly man and we got a picture with him too. Oliver told Santa he wanted Legos (he has since changed his mind).  Miles also refused to be part of this years photo for our xmas cards. Dan however held him upside down and got a smile out of him for a quick snap.

Grant had his 6 month check earlier this month. Of course his head is still in the 100%. He weighed in at just over 21 pounds (95%) and measured at 28.5" (97%) - He's out grown most of the 12 month clothing and we've moved onto the range of 12-24, but mostly solid 18 month items.  He just keeps skipping over all these sizes! He has mastered rolling and is trying to figure out this crawling business, and practicing sitting best he can. We think he is trying to say 'hi' sometimes too. He is over all such a happy smiley baby that he lights up anyone who gets the pleasure of receiving a smile.
Sleep seems to be better the last couple days. I tend to get way too optimistic when he gives us a night, then we snowball after that into sleepless nights. One thing that has changed recently though is his ability to put himself to sleep now. We believe that has made a huge difference with the constant night waking. Its only been 3 nights of good sleep so far after weeks of ?, so we'll see.

The house is moving along. Lots of things going on in the next 2-3 weeks in trying to get things wrapped up. We never anticipated it taking as long as it has. I've rescheduled my mom and sisters visit now for the 3rd time. We thought for sure we'd be done in time to get to move in before the holidays. We were given a tentative date of January 17th (but with some exterior work that still might be left to finish up). We shall see if that really happens, but its soon none-the-less.

Other than that, everyone is happy and healthy.

until next year...
