Olivers WBC dropped to .2 with an ANC of only 98 - This means he is at severe risk of infection as he does not have enough of these types of cells to fight anything off should something come along.
We knew he could dip after the steroids as they are a stimulant, but we weren't expecting this much.
His RBC is at 2.93
HGB at 9.9
And platelets at 149K
They immediately pull him off the oral chemo meds. We'll check him on Monday. They will wait until his ANC is above 750 before possibly starting up again at 1/2 the dose. Last time he dipped like this it only took 3 days for his counts to turn around off the meds. We hope that may be the same or close to as we are planning his and his brothers birthday party next weekend on his actual Birthday! It would be a shame for him to miss his own party. I do feel based on previous low times that he'll be fine for his party. At least he'll get some exclusive use of the bounce house before and after the party after a good lysol dousing, however I think it'll work out by then.
He's been fine other than still with a huge appetite. Not tired anymore, and we've been keeping busy with playground visits and the zoo this week. We have to stay away from those such places now however until we get back to normal for his counts.
We have planned a photo shoot for the boys on Tuesday that we may have to reschedule depending on what Monday's counts show.
Keep you posted!
