Today's count check

Oliver's WBC jumped up to a normal number of 7.0 and his ANC is 6440!
This means he will have chemo on Friday at the hospital since the clinic is closed.
His platelets are normal at 244K and his RBC and Hgb are just below normal.

Sometimes the numbers are a little misleading as they could be his recovery numbers from not having chemo for 3 weeks, and the chemo he got last week won't show up in his numbers until next week, etc etc. Either way, I'll take good numbers for once!

He is doing well. Has a 5 o'clock shadow on his head now. Today he discovered how delicious M&M's are. We will be using these tasty chocolatey treats for potty training rewards. I had him try them to see how much he'd like them. He kept asking for more and I kept explaining to him he gets more if he goes on the potty. So he goes into the bathroom asking to sit on the potty asking for chocolate. He didn't do anything but I did give him one and when he asked for more I told him he would get more if he went on the potty. I am hoping we can make something out of this route. It's still going to take some time. Every night at bedtime I tell him the story of Oliver who tells his mommy or daddy that he has to go potty when he has to go, and everyone is happy and dances, and he gets a chocolate. He knows this story now and repeats it with me.

In off topic news, yesterday I went into work to give my official notice. Even though I've been off on some kind of leave since April, it felt weird to actually 'quit' for real. I've been there for 11 years and all the replies I was getting to my farewell email made me get all sad. But work goes on, they will just have to survive without me for now ;) - They treated me to lunch and yummy deserts. Everyone was so nice and I am thankful to have had such the opportunity to be a part of the team.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone. We are thankful for all the wonderful people out there who have helped us through this year in whatever form or fashion. Peace to you.
