Oliver's total White Blood Count is only .7 today. His ANC is only 119. Today is the last day he has to take the steroid (tonight is the last dose) which once off, could make his counts all dip again. We check again on Monday.
He's almost lost all his hair this time around of what he had growing back. Miles has more hair than he does now. I took a cute short video of him this morning and posted it to youtube already (links to the right section).
Otherwise we are just keeping him safe from getting any infection or illness which would land us in the hospital. I think they are not putting him there now (with the low counts) as they said the would because he has been lucky and not had any issues or complications with the compromised immune system to date. It would be another story if he had gotten an illness since the diagnoses.
He's been eating and drinking more mostly because of the steroid. That will wear off within a week or so. He has been mostly hanging out on the couch, with an occasional visit to his doodle board or puzzle on the floor. Has not even gone to play in his room much at all. The house has been clean of toy clutter all over the place as a result, but that will change again I am sure. Lately he goes into the kitchen and sits in his chair at the table asking you to cook something for him.. usually something we don't have. Its been the chow mien noodles from Chefs Chinese that we pick up sometimes. He told me to cook brown noodles. :)
Other than that, we have been laying low as well so to minimize ourselves from picking up anything either as we need to stay healthy too. Flu shots for everyone!
Will try to update on Monday again. Possible start of this next half of treatment is on Thursday next week, depending on his counts the day before, which we doubt will be up to par with how low his ANC is right now.
