Little late on this update.
Oliver had his monthly check up on the 25th, but the lab forgot to draw the CBC tube so I had to bring him back the following week to get that done but have not updated since. Dan has been taking him for his check-ups and draws so this was my first poke experience since his line was taken out. He's all over the place while trying to pin him still, but once he sees the needle out near his arm, he stops completely and it goes in, he is happy and relieved and cheers?! and after they pull it out, its hooray! Really throws the lab people for a loop. Then he walks by people holding out his arm saying he got a shot.
All his chemistry was within normal limits and Immunoglobulin was good too.
CBC results from Oct 30th:
white blood count at 4.9 with an ANC of 2156 (44%)
red blood count at 4.49
hemoglobin at 13.3
and platelets at 171K
All numbers within normal limits.
Nothing unusual regarding his visit. His weight and height stayed about the same.
Got to go trick or treating this Halloween. Last hear he was compromised so he missed 3 weeks of school and trick or treating. We hung out and played trick or treat at Nana and Jichans house. The year before was the same thing being in an intense phase of chemo where he had just lost all his hair. We took a yellow shirt and taped a black zigzag line to be Charlie Brown and played indoors like we were going from house to house but from room to room. He marched at the school parade this year as superman (photos on flickr), but at home did not want to wear that to go out in, instead put on Miles' monsters inc costume since Miles refused to wear a costume (though we got a cape on him eventually). Oliver was excited to get candy. Miles was just excited to knock and ring on peoples houses. He ran from the candy?!
Swimming at school is going great. We start Oliver and Miles on lessons at the end of the month, just when Oliver's school program ends.
Baby Grant had his 4th month check up mid October as well. We have a giant baby on our hands. His head size ranked in the 100% while height and weight were just above the 90%. (he weighed just over 18 lbs!) He is a very happy and smiley baby and seems easy to make chuckle from new faces he sees. Rolling around, eating his toes, and still drooling to no end. Sleep is better as well over all. Next check up in December for his 6 month visit.
On the home front, our house is coming along. Its going to be quick with all the major stuff done now, but longer than we thought we'd be able to get back in. Although we want to wait until its all done before we move back in. There might be a few loose ends we can deal with on the outside of the house that would not prevent a move in (painting, landscape, driveway replacement).
Right now its about the windows, insulation and drywall, as well as getting the exterior weather tight and ready for stucco. I believe we are looking at 4 solid weeks at least, giving another 2ish at most for odds and ends and finish work/clean up (really the absolute dead line is Dec 21st as far as the bank is concerned). I have been posting pictures as I have them of the progress. I nearly drive by daily right before or after I pick up Oliver from school for a quick look, though its now the inside that is going to be changing quicker than the outside with the exception of the windows.
Next check up and draw is at the end of this month.
Until then.
